Will the Puebla tipi dream ever materialise ?

ORIGIN exhibit in Puebla

The ORIGIN network was created in January 2018 and stabilised in 2019.

Collecting ATLAS material that could be transported and displayed was the first priority, and although the items list will continue to grow and improve the 2019 focus shifted in fall towards a better setup.

Organising banners in a circle - called by the Puebla students the TIPI - allows to display the large impressive and standard LHC images on the outer ring, and create an internal space where smaller and more intimate, poetic or inspiring pieces could be hosted. The internal content, which can be seen as a curiosity cabinet, can be tuned to a specific event, theme or location.

In the next version (which was never constructed) a series of images - called the DRIVEWAY - provided an introduction to the ORIGIN concept and partners, and lead the visitor - in a light and open-minded way - to the tipi and other parts of the exhibit. A "wrap up" spot, with took away messages and reference links was also designed.

This project was not selected by the organisers of the conference if was initiated for... and died. Still, studying the steps needed to build an exhibit was a strong experience. And the souvenir of the wonderful students who inspired it and the ideas didn't.

A really nice complementary inspiration can be found in a Geneva exhibit on roofs.

Who knows ?
